El Dorado's Vespa buddy clued us in on a 1.1km track in Pasir Salak which offers trackdays for a princely sum of RM7! According to the dude, the track is freshly asphalted and is about 20 minutes from the Tapah exit on PLUS. So, the catch is that we'll have to ride 3 hours on PLUS just to get to the Tapah exit. So this is what I have in mind: -We depart Rawang R&R at 7 am, -stop halfway for quick breakfast, -get there around 11am and play for 1 to 1 1/2 hours (believe me, on a small tight track, you'll be exhausted very quickly). -Break for lunch (anything good around there?), -return to the track for another 1 to 1 1/2 hour session (don't know if this means we have to pay another RM 7), -return to kl by evening. any interest?

Hi Bro, For your infor is that you have to ride for about 3hours from KL to Pasir Salak which you exit from Tapah. Its not 20mins from Tapah. Its in the area of Kampng Gajah. Pasir Salak has got good Durian and Sui Yee. Other then that can cruise down Sg Perak good for Jet Ski and river safari. Not that I know of any track there amybe new. Those days used to sapu corners along the kampong road dun't need to do on the track.By the way, is the track legal and well up kept? Another aspect is has got all the safety features should any riders crash?Think be wisher if realy want to do tracks might as well do it in Sepang.Might as well go for long day ride and take sapu all the corners and speed all you want rather then doing it on a small kampng track. Just speaking my 2 cents of mind. Good Luck to your track day...cheers

Very valid concerns, David. Very risky to go all out on a track that is so far from home. I think we shouldn't think of a trackday as a race. We don't have to go all out. Its just a safer environment than the street to push a little harder in the corners. In the case of a small, tight track, it is rather difficult to ride really fast. We'll be cornering every few seconds. Frankly, I think we'll be spent within an hour on this track. The trackday is just one more excuse for a group ride (besides makan).

| | I know Penguin has a good head on his shoulders and knows to identify stupidity vs limitations. Sounds like a good way to spend a Sunday. The ride to and fro itself would be interesting. Hey Peng.. maybe u can pack a small backpack and stay overnight at Pangkor instead. hehehe.. |

ha ha... I fear that when it comes to aggressive riding, not much separates recognition of oneself's limitations from outright stupidity. lol. It is a fine, gray line, at times. But for those who are interested in improving their cornering, this much IS true. One trackday is more effective than many days spent at TTKong.
