OK lah.. i finally rode today. Paul, Patrick and I went on sort-of twisties .. up to 3000ft above sea level. Average speed 40-60Mph, rode about 85miles in total. Paul's Sportster wasnt charging up properly so we couldn't stop anywhere in case the bike refused to start. Had to push start once and being out in the countryside... err... better not get stranded. Narrow roads, winding, and sloping at the corners takes some getting used to. I guess it is designed for cars around the corners since there were some rather scary looking drops.
The Rebel is a bit light and the gear is positioned very close to the footpeg so it isn't easy to switch gears fast enough. Still runs at 70mph with no probs except for the bloody strong winds from every direction esp when trailers pass by. Aiya!! hits you like a rock! Also loads of bug juice and one silly squirrel that wanted to run across the road, stopped and made u-turn after it saw me coming. Aiyoo... scared the heck out of me. Loads of bikers out there today. Almost all waved Smile

Bikers hang out at this place just off the road behind the trees.

Bloody cold wind some more. Should hv worn my new leather jacket instead. Shaking like a leaf in the winds, and muscles all stiff from the cold. Not easy to ride like that at all.

Theres hope for you yet. So did you squish the squirrel (road Kill) ,followed by Barbeque that night? You should make it a ritual to go for similar rides every weekend and before you know it ,you no longer scared and ready for Hayabusa

There might be some adjustment on your gear change to make it more comfortable for you , get someone to have a look at it

Gary... the squirrel survived. Thank goodness. I don't want to be responsible for roadkill. It was a cute lil thing too.
The nice part about the ride was passing orange orchards. The smell of orange blossoms was in the air.
I seriously need thick gloves for this weather coz my Icon perforated gloves were perfect in KL but will not work with the cold winds.
As for the gear, i need to figure that one out too.

Now i need to see a chiro about my neck. Wearing a helmet is not helping it at all.
