Ha,do it.The appearance and sound will change the way you feel about your bike.Ive changed the exhaust on every single bike Ive ever owned .Its the first mod I do.Dont think too much, just dust the cobwebs off your wallet and before you know it Mr laser will be yours.Have now even changed the exhaust on BigMama's bike and its incredibly loud now. Even Fish is big on changing exhausts on his bike. The only difference is he keeps changing on the same bike. Smile

The exhaust is like the voice of your bike. You can hear it speak to you. Thats because I have only 1 bike and I have gone thought 5 Mufflers (OEM, Ayam brand, Yoshi, Akra Ti & Akra Carbon) my latest addition is my long awaited Ti Header from Muzzy, can feel the 7 pull harder now. Really have some fetish for exhaust, even on my car

Fish.... fetish for exhaust???? You not into BDSM, I hope? Hahahahahahaha!!!

Well, anyhow... I'm really adamant on getting the pipes but it's the matter now of justifying it to my wife. I'm due for an unexpected bonus in Oct & would like to keep the matter hush-hush from my "Finance Minister"...... heh! heh!!

Oh, well.... as coppers are probably the biggest bullsh*tters in the business, I'll eventually think of something...

Maybe not a fetish but a keen interest in it or rather overly fussy about how the exhaust sound and looks on my vehicle. Once I find one that suits my ears and riding/driving style, I will stick with it. Like for my Civic B18C VTEC I have settled with the Ganador Ti / RSR Exmag as for my ZX7R I have settled with Akrapovic Ti & Carbon. But kinda like the Ti cause its more durable. If its scratched just hit it with a 600 particle sander and its good as new.

Just Curious why Laser exhaust ?

Fish,
Frankly, I prefer the loud booming sound of the Akra & Leo Vince but they're dull in looks. Aesthethically, the Laser makes my bike look as if it was fitted with an anti-aircraft gun..... Hargh! Hargh!!!

Met my pal who had Laser fitted on his VFR and the sound's quite gruffy & loud also...

Had a friend who installed a can from Italy called MIVV , looks damn good and radical. Made of Ti and carbon. Check out their SUONO range. Comes with a baffle as well. http://www.mivv.it/en/contenuto_statico.asp?cs=143

Fish,
Already checked it out. Unfortunately, they only stock exhausts for the 5th Gen VFR (Pre-2002). Mine is the 6th Gen (2006 onwards).

Basically, the reason I'm getting the new exhausts is purely aesthetics. I don't expect too much an increase in performance.

BlackBandit, I'm using a pair of those LASER exhausts on my bike. The exhaust system comes with an 'insert' type silencer that lowers the volume by about 3-5 decibels. LASERS are reasonably priced, looks unique (love it or hate it) and sounds great. Been very satisfied with my purchase. Hope u will find something for your VFR. Good luck.

I sent my Kymco stainless steel exaust to the mech to get it modded. taking out the 2nd Cat3 converter from the pipe footer and removing the baffles to make it a straight through silencer can. should make the exaust note sound sweeter and more bark and give me a bit more torque and more bite!. i have already removed the airbox and replaced it with a open racing air filter Smile

Toying with the idea of respraying th bike too since i dropped it, well i didnt actually drop it. it decided to fall over itself while it was on its stand ( yes, dont ask me how it could do that but it did) no idea what paint scheme to do yet

bandit, as for my 'MechaMoto-VX4' project, yes its still in the pipeline, as soon as i strangle the mech who has kept the bike for god knows how many months and still not finished the first stage of mods i wanted. Think i will just take it back n do it myself Smile
