| 1) Don't panic.
2) Immediately after you've found yourself lying down on the road, try to get up and go to the side of the road as quickly as you can. If you have any injuries, use whatever means necessary to attract attentions of other drivers/riders.
3) Keep your protections on. Some idiots might just hit you when you're standing there because he "didn't see you".
4) If you need ambulance/police/firemen/stripper, call 112 using your mobile phone. If your phone is destroyed, ask anybody who stopped to call that number, or call whoever you need to call during an emergency.
5) Check yourself for any injuries. Take note of any pain or possible brain injury (lost of balance, vomiting).
6) Sometimes, your helmet is the only thing that's keeping things together. SO, be extra careful when taking it off. Or don't take it off at all.
7) Sound like a bad luck, but keep something in your wallet stating what number to call in case of an emergency. Could be your father's, or your friend's. Write clearly EMERGENCY.
Always have a torchlight with you. You can keep it with your bike, your pouch, or your bag. It's always handy. If possible, try to get one with the hazard light included. We can't carry the damn triangle thing, right?
9) Don't panic.
10) After all the above has been done, then you can check your bike.
11) Go to a clinic/hospital ASAP. Just in case.
Ride safe brothers. And sisters. _________________ Riding on the edge of heaven. |

| ...usually, I just pick myself up, find a corner to sit, light up a ciggie, look at the G-spot, walk to the G-spot, snub the ciggie, try hard to leverage the injured 'missus' up, and once she is up...i wil return to the same corner, light up another ciggie and cry...

Maximum_Babe, Sorry, for the delay to reply on this First Aid.Was rather busy with the MAFTS safety riding course. Now thats over let me get past on the information. With my Public relations with St. John Ambulans the course is FREE. All, I have to do is get the date fixed and must have a group of 10 or more members.I think its just for of a few hours only. Well, Maybe we can do our part is give them some donation to help them run their Ambulance Service as they also depends on Public donation. Things, like how to apply First Aids help to accident victims. CPR and what to do during any accidents. Its just who are interested to learn and gain useful information which one day be very useful should we face such an accident and who knows may safe a friend or a a fellow bikers life.Like, during our Course on safety Ride to Bukit Tinggi Bukit, We saw a biker down and getting help was not a joking matter and MAFTS president Erik Yong was giving his First Aid and getting help as he had broken bone around his hip or spinal. So, if some of Us have the knowledge would be a great help and just of matter of spending a few hours to gain useful Knowledge. |

U can bring the horse to the trough but u sure as hell cant force the horse to drink!
First Aid & CPR session is also on the agenda of activities for MAFTS...stay tuned to this the MAFTS thread and again, only paying member can join...
Those of u who know me, will know that getting rm5.00 foutta my pocket is like pulling my teeth without anesthetics..but to have me willingly, paying Rm100 to join MAFTS, would say sumthin' right?
...and now part of my unspoken task (in MAFTS), is to recruit as many safety conscious riders as possible to join up. We have lost too many friends for whatever the reasons...I just hope that not understanding about bike, its dynamics, and riding skill or lack of it, arent part of the cause...
